Lynn Brown has over 29 years in the field of human resources. A seasoned
generalist, she has breadth of experience in all facets of human resources.
Lynn’s particular expertise is in the areas of organizational effectiveness and
process improvement, policy and program development, legislative compliance,
recruitment and selection, compensation and employee relations.
Lynn developed the HRdiagnostic™, a comprehensive tool to help organizations
maximize their human resources. It provides a full assessment of an
organization’s HR programs, processes and practices. Proprietary to Brown
Consulting Group, HRdiagnostic™, identifies which areas are working well and
those that could be further enhanced.
Lynn has written a variety of human resource related articles for publications
such as Workspan, HR Professional, TLOMA Today, The Canadian Chemical News, CSAE
(Canadian Society of Association Executives) Forum and Metro. Currently, Lynn is
a McQuaig System Certified Interpreter, a member World@Work, (the North American
Compensation Association), the Human Resources Professional Association of
Ontario (HRPAO) and the Canadian Association of Management Consultants. She is
also a member of the HRPAO’s Experts’ Panel. Lynn is frequently cited in
national media including the Globe and Mail/ workopolis.com and other business
and human resources publications.
Prior to her consulting career, Lynn held several senior human resource
positions in corporate environments. In this regard, she developed national
recruitment campaigns, aligned HR to business needs through effective strategic
planning and managed the HR aspects of a merger of two national professional
firms.
As Managing Director of Brown Consulting Group, Lynn currently provides
consultative services to a wide variety of clients ranging from smaller
entrepreneurial companies to large multi-nationals. Her industry focus covers
not-for-profit, financial services, professional services, insurance,
manufacturing, media and entertainment, construction, transportation and
high-tech. Lynn also provides coaching and training in the areas of human
resources and management skills.

Denise Burton Barrett
Consultant/Researcher

In addition to her consulting role, Denise Burton Barrett handles all
research requirements for Brown Consulting Group, and is often consulted on a
variety of our client engagements as our resident expert in the field of
privacy.
With her B.A. in Public Administration, and an M.A. in Political Science, her
Masters Thesis was on Ontario's Freedom of Information and Privacy Legislation.
She has also done on-air commentary relating to public policy and privacy issues
for CBC Radio, CBC Morningside, CTV Canada A.M., City TV Breakfast Television,
CJAD Radio Montreal.
Prior to joining Brown Consulting Group, Denise specialized in research and
training and worked in both the public and private sectors including the
Solicitor’s General’s Office, the Ministry of Education, Elections Canada,
Elections Ontario, William M. Mercer and United Press International.

Janice Carter

Janice Carter brings more than 20 years experience in human resource management to the Brown Consulting Group. Her solid HR generalist background includes a wide range of expertise including recruitment and retention, employee relations, performance management, staff development and training, career planning, compensation, and policy and process development.
Janice provides a variety of consulting services to clients including compensation strategies, pay equity and job evaluation, employee relations, recruiting and retention, performance management, process improvement and interim management.
Prior to her consulting career, Janice held several senior-level HR and resource manager positions for international HR/IT consulting firms. Her broad base of knowledge, business acumen and the ability to build strong relationships proves to be invaluable in helping clients to find innovative solutions to HR issues.
Janice is a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP), graduating from
the Executive Education Program from the Rotman School of Management at the
University of Toronto. She is a member of the Human Resources Professional
Association of Toronto. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the sociology
program at York University

Kenlyn Hughson
Manager, Finance and Administration

Kenlyn handles a dual role for Brown Consulting Group. She manages finance and administration for the office and also provides her expertise to clients as a consultant.
Kenlyn has a broad background in accounting, human resources, administration, marketing and promotions. Prior to joining the Brown Consulting Group, Kenlyn spent 10 years in the television and film industry. In addition, she has held the position of Treasurer for Rust Check and managed a promotion company in the beverage industry. She has her B.A. Honours majoring in Fine Art Studies from York University.
Her broad range of business experience, exceptional technical skills and
organizational abilities provide her with a unique perspective in creating
effective solutions to client issues. She is able to quickly assess and make
recommendations to clients to improve the efficiency of their administrative
systems.

Jim McKibbin
Senior Consultant

Jim McKibbin is a senior consultant at Brown Consulting Group with extensive
experience focusing in the areas of communications, management, labour
relations, media and public relations, and sales and marketing.
Jim provides consulting, facilitation, training and management coaching to
clients. In addition, Jim also handles the majority of our senior search
assignments. His solid understanding of business, in both union and non-union
environments, is invaluable in helping clients to identify issues, respond to
challenges and develop results-oriented solutions.
Jim also develops and delivers a number of specialized seminars and workshops in
the areas of management, leadership, communications, negotiations, sales, and
conflict resolution techniques.
As a frequent speaker on leadership, diversity, management communications,
demographics and social values, Jim has made keynote presentations to numerous
organizations in the public, private and non-profit sectors including: Broadcast
Research Council, the CBC, Canadian Chamber of Commerce, Canadian Database and
Marketing Association, Metro Toronto Convention and Visitors Association,
Ontario Federal Council of Government Departments, the Ontario Multifaith
Council and the Radio and Television News Directors Association.
Prior to joining Brown Consulting Group, Jim was Communications Manager for
Statistics Canada’s Central Region for both the 2001 and 2006 Census. During his
tenure at the agency he created the ethno-cultural communications program. He
also inaugurated the agency’s Account Executive marketing program and produced
the annual Perspectives on Canada Conference on social trends. Jim was also
Director of the Toronto Learning Annex; Secretary of the Industrial Market
Research Association of Canada; and for five years, was Chair of the Provincial
Soft Drink Workers' Union. He is a Certified Sales Professional (CSP) and a
member of the Canadian Professional Sales Association. Jim also serves on a
number of not- for-profit boards and commissions and is currently
president-elect of AOTS, the men’s organization of the United Church of Canada.

Donna
Morano

Donna Morano has more than 14 years of progressive experience in human
resources. With a solid HR generalist base, Donna has focused her expertise in
the areas of talent management, succession planning, leadership development and
training.
Donna currently provides a wide range of human resources consultative and
training services to clients. She works with companies to develop customized
solutions to assist with change management, relationship-building, acquisition
plans and shifts in business priorities. Her strong emphasis on learning and
development complements these initiatives by strengthening employee/employer
relationships.
Prior to joining Brown Consulting Group, Donna held progressively senior HR
positions in both large and small organizations. With both an HR and learning
and development focus, Donna was responsible for the development of major
training initiatives to enhance business priorities, including the development
of a leadership curriculum, a trainee program, a major diversity awareness
initiative, the creation of a national talent management approach, and a
national sales and service cultural shift initiative for over 700 employees
Donna is a Certified 360 Coach; a DDI Certified Target Selection Interviewer; a
Certified McQuaig Word Survey Interpreter and a Certified Facilitator for “Think
on Your Feet.” She is also a member of the Human Resources Professional
Association, the Society of Human Resources Management and is in the final stage
of completing her Human Capital Strategist Designation from the Human Capital
Institute of Canada.

Glenna Stelzer

Glenna Stelzer is an experienced professional with 20 years in human resources
management. As an HR generalist, her expertise is in the areas of acquisitions,
restructuring and change management, recruitment and retention, employee
relations, policy development and process improvement.
Currently, Glenna provides a variety of services including, HR consulting,
interim management, project management, training and coaching. Her industry
focus is in the areas of financial services, insurance, call centres and
telecommunications.
Prior to her consulting career, Glenna held progressively senior positions
within the financial services industry both in human resources and in branch
management. This experience has been invaluable to clients as she is able to
align her exceptional business acumen in partnership with her human resources
expertise.
Glenna has her Certified Human Resources Professional designation from the Human
Resources Professional Association of Ontario. In addition to her Honours B.A.,
from the University of Toronto, Glenna has completed the Advanced Program in HR
Management from the Rotman School of Management.

Mary Jane
(MJ) Tomashewski

MJ Tomashewski has a progressive HR background with more than 10 years of
experience as a human resources professional. Her industry experience includes
investment/financial services, insurance and not-for-profit.
Prior to joining Brown Consulting Group, she had a number of very successful
years as an entrepreneur. With direct experience as a business owner and her
former corporate HR positions, at the Heart and Stroke Foundation and with
Nesbitt Thomson, MJ has had the benefit of working in the corporate world, at a
major not-for-profit and as an entrepreneur.
Currently, MJ provides a wide range of HR services with a focus on job
evaluation, Pay Equity, compensation, exit interviews, recruiting, policy and
program development and training. She has her B.A. from the University of
Toronto and is currently working towards her CHRP designation.

Judy
Webb

Judy Webb is an experienced professional with 20 years in human resources and administration. Her breadth of experience expands beyond human resources to include the development and acquisition of facilities, telecommunications systems, office furniture and equipment, and relocations.
Prior to her consulting career, Judy held a variety of senior positions managing human resources and administration/operations. Her experience extends from the local to national and international levels of business. She has overseen multiple start-ups and reorganizations and been responsible for the planning and management of the physical, intellectual, financial and human resources. She brings to the table a wealth of experience as a member of senior management. This sound business knowledge has provided her keen insight into client needs and the ability to respond quickly to provide strategic and cost-effective solutions.
Judy currently provides both on-site and consultative services to clients in her areas of expertise, with a particular emphasis in start-ups, reorganizations, facilities management and process improvement in human resources, operations and administration. She is also experienced in the areas of payroll, benefits administration, recruiting, change initiatives and project management.
Judy has her Advanced Program in Human Resources Management from the Rotman
School of Business and the Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP)
designation. She is a member of the Human Resources Professional Association and
Canadian Payroll Association
